Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar local-storage technologies QuizTopics uses, and how to control them.

How we group cookies

We split cookies into three categories: Essential, Analytics, and Advertising. Only the Essential category loads by default; Analytics and Advertising are off until you accept them in our cookie banner. The banner is delivered by Cloudflare Zaraz, which manages tag firing on our behalf and records your choice.

Essential

Needed for the site to work. These don't track you across other sites and we don't ask consent for them (lawful basis: legitimate interest, ICO PECR exemption).

Analytics (consent required)

Help us understand which quizzes are popular and where users come from. The Google Analytics tag is not loaded — and these cookies are not set — until you accept "Analytics" in the banner. Cloudflare Zaraz controls when the tag fires.

Note on first-party tag delivery. When you accept analytics, Google Analytics is served from our own domain (via Cloudflare Zaraz's first-party proxy) rather than directly from Google. This is a delivery method only — it does not change the data Google receives or the lawful basis required (consent). It does mean the tag isn't blocked by some ad-blockers.

Advertising (consent required)

Used by Google AdSense to show ads (when enabled) and measure ad performance. Loaded only after you accept "Advertising" in the banner.

How to change your choices

Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends the GPC (Global Privacy Control) signal, we treat it as a refusal of Analytics and Advertising cookies and the banner records that choice automatically. Older "DNT" headers are not supported because the standard was abandoned.
