This policy explains what data QuizTopics ("we", "us") collects when you use this site, why we collect it, and what rights you have.

Who we are

QuizTopics is a quiz publishing site operated from the United Kingdom. For data-protection purposes we are the data controller for personal data collected through this site. You can reach us at hello@quiztopics.com.

What we collect

• Quiz progress + preferences — your score, theme choice (light/dark), and table-density preference, all stored in your browser's localStorage. Never sent to us.
• Server access logs — IP address, user-agent, and the page you requested. Retained by Cloudflare on our behalf for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention. Lawful basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4, managed via Cloudflare Zaraz. The GA tag is loaded from our own domain (first-party proxy) and only fires when you accept the "Analytics" purpose in our cookie banner. GA4 records pseudonymous events: pages visited, quiz completions, approximate location (country/region only). IP addresses are anonymised before storage. Lawful basis: consent.
• Advertising — once Google AdSense is enabled on this site, ad serving will rely on Google's cookies and identifiers to show relevant ads and measure performance. Lawful basis: consent — only loaded after you accept advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the cookie list.
• Email correspondence — if you email us, we hold your message and email address for as long as needed to respond and for any follow-up.

We do not require accounts, do not collect names or addresses, and do not run a mailing list.

Who we share with

• Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, DDoS protection, analytics processor.
• Google — Analytics 4 + AdSense (advertising) when consented.

Some of these processors are based outside the UK/EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, the providers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict our processing of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time (re-open the cookie banner via the footer link)
• Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office

To exercise any of these, email hello@quiztopics.com with "Data request" in the subject. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

QuizTopics is a general-audience site and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 if you are in the UK or EEA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy materially we will update the "Last updated" date and re-prompt the cookie banner so you can review your choices.
